Nobody Grows Alone: Supporting New Families
A student-led awareness campaign and digital experience developed for Vanier Children’s Mental Wellness as part of my Graphic Design studies. The project explores how warm, approachable visuals and clear communication can make parental mental health support feel more accessible, human, and connected.
The Story
Created as a student project in collaboration with Vanier Children’s Mental Wellness, this work focused on the Parent and Infant Relationship Clinic, or PAIR. I developed an awareness campaign intended to explore how Vanier could connect with parents and caregivers navigating the emotional challenges of early parenthood. The goal was to make information about support feel approachable and reassuring while encouraging families to see asking for help as part of growth rather than a sign of failure.
The Foundation
Parental mental health can be deeply personal, so the campaign needed to communicate care without feeling clinical, overly sentimental, or overwhelming. I also needed to work within Vanier’s existing visual identity while creating a distinct campaign system that could adapt across outdoor advertising, social media, and motion. Every design decision had to balance emotional warmth with clarity, accessibility, and enough visual impact to capture attention quickly.

Design Decisions
The campaign was built around the message “Small Hands Remind Us Nobody Grows Alone,” connecting the growth of a child with the support parents may need along the way. Candid parent-and-infant photography, overlapping hands, soft floral graphics, and warm brand colors created a visual language centered on connection and belonging. I carried the concept across proposed billboards, bus shelters, social media, and motion graphics, adapting the composition and messaging for each format while maintaining a consistent emotional tone.
The Final Look
The final student campaign developed into a cohesive set of proposed physical and digital touchpoints that presents mental health support in a more personal and welcoming way. I later extended the same thinking into a conceptual redesign of Vanier’s online services experience, organizing programs into clearer categories and introducing page-jump navigation, expandable information, and responsive layouts. Together, the campaign and interface demonstrate how thoughtful visual communication can make support easier to find, understand, and approach.

The Heart Behind The Portfolio
I’m Cassidy Torraville, a graphic designer specializing in branding, packaging, print, and game UI. But if you strip away the software and the file formats, I’m a storyteller. I approach design with a simple belief: visuals should do more than just look good—they should make you feel something. Inspired by immersive environments and rich, unexpected aesthetics, I build work that is purposeful, engaging, and built to last.
My toolkit centers around Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma, which I use to transform raw concepts into living identities. I sharpened my craft studying Graphic Design at Fanshawe College and collaborating with industry professionals through the RGD Mentorship Program. Those spaces taught me how to think strategically, defend my design choices, and thrive in fast-moving, collaborative environments.
I leave a piece of myself in everything I create. That personal investment is what allows me to connect deeply with my work and, in turn, helps my designs connect authentically with audiences. I’m always looking for new creative challenges, unexpected collaborations, and opportunities to grow.
Let’s build something memorable.
